KENTUCKY MISSIONS

Kentucky missions are great for entire familes. Many familes have taken part in this unforgettable experience of serving others.

Above: Extending our public school assemblies into the classroom by reading to each class.
Top: Each assembly begins with a Get Real bridge and the kids love it!

Kentucky missions often take us deep into the mountains. This home needed a table for their family of 4.

Kentucky is a great family and all age trip.

TYPE OF MINISTRY: Harlan County, Kentucky is a town that formerly relied on coal mining as its main source of industry. After coal mines shut down in the 70's-80's it left many of the people jobless and a vicious cycle of poverty began.

We first address the physical needs in the community, thus opening the door for spiritual ministry by collecting and giving away coats, blankets and warmth-giving items. We also collect toys to provide Christmas for many families.

We build relationships through public school assemblies, holding parties for familes, serve meals and host a Get Real store (where people can come to get supplies for their family). No money is exchanged.

How Do Mission Trips Work?

Mission trips are filled on a first-come basis. That means that trips are filled in order of signing-up. If you are interested in  a trip this is the process:

1.  Call or email to sign up. (You can use the form below)
2. We begin confirming participants 2-3 months (or more) prior to a trip. You will receive a call or an email.
3. Information is mailed and meeting (if applicable) is scheduled.

Many times we cannot accomodate the number of people signed-up for a particular trip. Those people are on the waiting list for an opening.

Many people sign-up for a trip a year in advance! Don't delay, sign up now!
